Wire Electrical Discharge Machining ( Wire EDM ) , also known as wire cutting, is used to cut very intricate and delicate shapes in materials that would be difficult to machine by any other method.

Our Swiss wire erosion facility offers the following key benefits :

• Surface Integrity – sub 5 micron recast area
• Surface finish up to 0.2Ra
• Machining tolerances of up to 0.005mm
• No tool contact with the material – delicate sections and fragile materials can be machined without the risk of distortion

One of our greatest accomplishments was the achievement of +/-2 μm tolerance and 0.2 Ra on a major satellite component for NASA. This shock absorbing cradle is manufactured entirely from titanium and is used to protect the delicate components within the satellite from damage during take-off.
